I am an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Iowa. I joined the university in August 2020 so this website primarily describes my past research and collaborations as a doctoral student and postdoctoral fellow as well as current and future directions for the Human Instumentation and Robotics (HIR) Lab. |
Our lab uses wearable sensor technologies to study human movement in a variety of natural settings. Our research draws from many disciplines to transform the data collected by unobtrusive, strategically-placed wearable sensors into quantitative metrics for a number of applications and subject populations. Additionally, these methods and techniques will provide the basis for human-robot interaction and robotics applications. |
