I am an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Iowa. I joined the university in August 2020 so this website primarily describes my past research and collaborations as a doctoral student and postdoctoral fellow as well as current and future directions for the Human Instumentation and Robotics (HIR) Lab.

Our lab uses wearable sensor technologies to study human movement in a variety of natural settings. Our research draws from many disciplines to transform the data collected by unobtrusive, strategically-placed wearable sensors into quantitative metrics for a number of applications and subject populations. Additionally, these methods and techniques will provide the basis for human-robot interaction and robotics applications.
